Font styles in stair families

Okay, big issue first. I have to change all the fonts in all the families in a project to Simplex with .8 width factor and bold styling. (it's a huge pain, I know)

Now for the problem at hand. How can I change the "DN" symbol on stairs to match my standards? The "Type Properties" window has options for the font, but not for the width factor and boldness.

I tried ccollins' solution, but it didn't work.

If there's no solution, I'll just hide the text and put a dummy "DN" on all the stairs.

@ToanDN
That was the solution in the other thread. I already tried it and it did not work.

Wow--you found an old thread from my past life.....

Trick: If you have access to a font editor, you can create a new simplex font with width factor of .8, save it into C:Windows/Fonts with a unique name, and load that into the Stair text type.

Note: it must be a True Type Font--see this:
