I would like to know if there is or can be a floor tag created that resembles a ceiling tag that measures the height of the bottom of the floor in the reflected ceiling plan?

example; we have exposed bottom floor structure and would like to tag the height of it similar to tagging the adjacent ceiling in another room

you can use the Spot Elevation command in the Annotate Tab, Dimension panel of the Ribbon.

is there a way to change the appearance of the spot elevation tag so it looks like the ceiling tag

yes.  select the tag that was created, open the family itself, modify it and load it back into the project...update your existing tags.

from what I gather there is no way to edit the spot elevation tag family. it seems to be a systems family?

In the Browser, scroll down to Families, Annotation Symbols, Spot Elevation-Target. Highlight it, right-click and select Edit.

I would do a Save-As, then load into project.

create spot elevation tag

select it

go to edit type in properties

duplicate

change symbol to use

remember to create a custom symbol first (annotation family) and load it into your project so you can select it in the edit type window

most text/labels have a feature within the instance properties to "show box" and change the background from transparent to opaque.

if not, create a masking region, colored and ordered
