Floor-based skylight

Hello,

I need to put a skylight on a roof. I know it’s possible to convert a wall or floor based family to a face based family. But do you know how to do the same thing with a roof based family ? Or how would you do ?

Many thanks

A face based or work-plane based family can be placed on a roof.

Thank you for your answer but I made a mistake in my question. I meant how I can put a skylight on a floor ?

Now you are talking about rebuilding the family.  Fastest way would be to clipboard copy and paste the geometry into a new floor or face based template.  Then recreate labeled dimensions, parameters, et al.

How about using a Roof instead of a Floor in the Project?  Too crazy?  Well, so is a Skylight in a Floor.  Smiley (zwinkernd)

...another thought: create a hole in the floor and then put a roof in that hole to host the skylight.
