Finding item from a model in schedule

Does anyone know if their is a way to find an item in a schedule using the model. I have a lot of doors and I want to be able to select one and find it in an itemised schedule. I have read that it was one way (as in schedule to model only) in 2012 this cannot still be the case?

This is to search for scheduled items in the model. To the best of my knowledge - it is not possible the other way - ie searching for a model item  in a schedule

Thanks, but i'm looking to go from the model to the schedule not schedule to model.

when i need to do somth just like you need i add to my schedule field "Mark" and when i pick the element in the model i fill this field with any label, wich in next step i use as filter of my schedule.

Thanks, That's a pretty decent idea, ideally though id like to be able to do it without adding information for the sake of a workaround that may end up confusing a user later down the project. seems like something that would have been addressed I cant believe their isn't a way. If it can go from schedule to model it must be possible to get from model to schedule.

Can I understand the need behind this? If you can select an item in the model you already have access to all parameters that show on the schedule.

if I had a very long list of parameters in my model and very few in my schedule and hundreds of itemised instances it would be useful to be able to find specifically which one is being referred to in the schedule to be able to change only those few parameters  in the schedule rather than scrawling through my models parameters to change the ones I need to.

Perhaps make use of Parameter Grouping.  Consolidate the frequently used parameters in one of the Top Group so you don't have to scroll up and down to look for them much.

That is a good idea but i still may have a great deal of parameters in one group depending on what I am creating and as per BIM work flows I am constrained to certain groups I am able to use for parameters anyway so I cannot use them to break things up in a lot of cases.

I assume it is not possible?

Not possible with tools OOTB from Revit. You MIGHT be able to do something like this with Dynamo or API tools.

Select the door in the model. Note it's Mark parameter value. Scroll through the schedule to find it.
