Filter, only 1 family visible

Good day,

I couldn't find an answer online, so I come here, seeking for knowledge.

In Revit I want to create a 3D view which shows 1 family.

If this family does not have a value in parameter x, then there is a red surface pattern, if this family does have a value in parameter x, then there is a green surface pattern.

Until now I only managed to get this working with a lot of view filters, but I was wondering:

 

Can I only make 1 family visible with view filters (hide everything, except for family X)?

Why lots of filters?! Unless there is something in the question which I missed, it is  2 filters using 1x Y/N instance Parameters added to that family category in the project or in the family

If X = Yes it is Red Surface pattern is overriden to Solid  red

If X = No Surface pattern is overriden to Solid  Green

The family I want to isolatie is a Generic Model.

Generic Model

Filter:

Hide families starting with Detail/Invisible

Hide families starting with Boringen

Make families with parameter X filled in green

Make families with parameter X not filled in red

Yet I still have some families in my view that I dont want to see.

The families which are still visible, but which I don't want visible are also Generic Model and do have the parameter, but the draftsman doesn't need to fill them in at those families.

Only at the big cage family.

What type of parameter is X?

In one filter you use more than one condition...example: name starts with abc AND X =1

Can yiu share an image of your filters dialogue?

Parameter X = text parameter

Parameter X is also a project parameter for a lot of categories

Would it be a solution to just add rules to that first filter until every unwanted object is filtered out?

Basically yes...but you have to rethink the logic of the filtering. What is filtered out and what is left in there for the next condition to work on..and use Add Set Add Rule to combine

And if one parameter is not suitable use another... example: put all those families you want to work with on a workset or a user defined parameter common to all theose families and you would save yourself the two or 3 OR name conditions and simply use Workset as a filter parameter...att to it the other parameter from the third image and your filter is done using 2 conditions...

You only need two filters: equal X and not equal X.
