Filter by Assembly Parameters?

Hi everyone,

I am trying to filter floors in my project by the structural thickness found in the assembly, but it is nowhere to be found in the project parameters.

Is there any way to get Revit to recognize this information in order to filter it? If not, I'd appreciate some other workaround. Thanks.

Revit doesn't offer Thickness of floors for filtering because thickness can varies (via modifying sub-elements).  Name your floor types to match the thickness and use filter by Type Name instead.

Are they all single layer?

In such case there are two easy options.

  • option 1: convert to parts and use that view for filtering. Parts allow you to use Layer Thickness. And considering it is a single layer, you would be practically filtering the entire assemble. (U can also combine that with the original assembly type)
  • option 2: add a shared project parameter for wall thickness then input the thin less of each wall. Useful if you wish to add it also to the wall tag
