@JasonLLINDNER

I mean there are a group of pre-set filled region types, but there is no option to controal transparency and boundary line pattern and colour..

Boundary Lines

You already stated the reason... you cannot edit boundary lines because they reside IN the family! If you place a symbolic line in a Family...Can you edit and/or control that Linework in the model through the family properties?! No, you have to edit the family and create another line

Transparency

It seems like your question came up because you wanted to do something and the Filled Region did not achieve it. Filled regions as a family are treated as Annotations hence in the family they have only the option to be either Opaque/Masking or non-masking.

  1. Once you place them in the project you can override their visibility (by element or category) and apply Transparency as you wish...similar to any other family in principle
  2. you can even override the original Fill patterns by applying Surface Patterns and have a 2 in 1 filled region; however, surface overrides should not be abused as it may affect visibility/graphics of other components in views as well as printout)

@RDAOU so there is no way to pre-set a group of filled regions types including their transparency and boundary pattern?

this is because I need diffrent standard regions for example demolition area or area for shutter boxes and so forth.. different kinds of color coding where sometimes transparancy is also needed. in the office we always use the same settings but now in Revit I wouldnt want to redo that every time I place those elements..

You can add as may preset Filled Region type as you wish - You cannot preset the Pattern of the boundary line but you can define it while placing the family or when u edit the regions which are in the view. Mask/Not mask can be set and Transparency is an override

However, I believe what you are looking for a re-sizable Generic annotation (length x Width instance parameters) with a nested filled region in it...the issue of this family is that it is rectangular only... I have posted one on the forum I can try to look it up and send it to you to check
