Files Compress To Zip Files When New Package Is Shared

This is a BIM 360 question, but I figured maybe someone here might know the answer.

When we share a new package into the shared folder a few of our files Zip themselves.

This is a issue for the consultants who link those files into their model.

Why does this happen & how can we fix it.

BIM 360 creates a ZIP package containing all the required links from the published file to support the package. When a non BIM 360 collaboration team 'download' the package (eg not consume) the ZIP usually contains the RVT files which are actually ZIP files. (You'll need to change the extension to ZIP and un package them).

If you don't want to have the models add the links you'll need to unload them before packaging them or simply save a copy of the RVT file without the links and upload to BIM 360 to share.

Hope this helps
