This is the post I get every time I try and install Revit lite.

This is I think because the installation stalls at 4/10 complete - I just can't get past this. There is plenty of memory and ram on my machine. Why is this happening?? I have installed, uninstalled etc about 20 times now and am feeling extremely cheated.

Hi @Anonymous

1. disable firewall and antivirus 
2. clear temp folder
3. Download from virtual agent (not web install) link below
4. Install revit
5. Download and install updates
6. re-enable firewall and antivirus

I think it is unacceptable to require people to disable their computers,
make them vulnerable, and worst of all not to tell people this up front
when purchasing this. I am not pleased with Autodesk. They are riding on
the fact that they are the strongest out there. I have almost wasted a year
of my subscription trying to solve this. I will try this solution, but even
if it works, it is ridiculous and Autodesk should be ashamed and get
involved to make their software reliable. Refunds should be offered.

Disabling the firewall and AV for 15 mins wont make you vunrable for sure lol unless you work at langly and you are targeted round the clock!

Bu honestly speaking I had same problem on one computer with AVG installed had to go through the same proc mentioned above but the installation went fine with the laptop which had McAfee. After reading up on it I figured that it is not Autodesk's fault. Firewalls and AVs has setup and settings and they differ between manufacturers so how can we expect Autodesk to work with all of them and figure out how string each user has his setting set to!

I look at it from this perspective ... if there this gorgeous amazing woman you met once ... of course all women are beautiful BUT THIS PARTICULAR ONE is so special that you really really want to get to know her...then you need to work hard to get her attention and then you need to work harder to keep her attention cuz everyone else sees that she is special 🙂

moral... there is always and in everything a hassle but there is always a good catch after that ...life is good even with the bumps
