Family Placement point

Hi,

Trying to make a family with toilet / grab bars built in.

I want the placement point to be a/THE origin corner of the family. Currently I can't get it to host on the correct wall plane, this would be crucial to fix first.

Desired origin of family for click and place.

Family attached if anybody wants to take a look.

Check "Is Origin" on the two reference planes that meet in that corner.

Took a quick look, your reference plane that you want to be the origin, you need to set to Defines Origin.  I had no issues of getting the family to host to the wall plane.

Adjusting the origin helped, but I am still not getting the correct result with the second family (grab bars) contained within the family. 

The bars and toilet are off plane when I insert the family.

Its doing what you're telling it to do... You have the reference plane that is embedded in the wall marked as "is origin". Move that reference plane to the face of the wall.

The ref plane on the face of wall is checked as the origin.

Because the wall in the family and the wall in the project have different thicknesses.  Lock the ref plane in the family to the wall face.

Just move it.  It is a wall based family so you can only choose one wall, not a corner of two walls.  If you want to place by one point then don't use a host based family.
