Hello,

I am trying to change families' levels in my project but when cutting and pasting to a selected level, it still assigns a different level then the one I select. when trying to change the specific family's level in properties - the level selction is greyed out. How can I change the family's level?

Thank you!

Do you have the Edit Workplane available? You should. Sounds like the families have Workplane-Based enabled in them.

What does it mean to have the work plane available? Thanks

Select the family and check the Modify Tab options available to you (Contextual Tab). Do you have "Edit Work Plane"?

These families are not work plane based, and can be placed anywhere.

The behavior you are describing is consistent with "Work Plane Based" families. By this I mean: the "Work Plane-Based" checkbox is CHECKED in the family's properties (under "Other").  If this is not your case, then you should have access to its "Level" parameter in the project. But, what I understand you saying, is that this parameter is grayed out for each instance of it within your project. Is this correct?
