I created a projject on revit 2024, and it was working fine. I tried accessing it a month later and it says "Failed to open document" several online support suggest :

1. Ensure You Are Using the Correct Version
Confirm that you are opening the file with Revit 2024 (not an older version).
Revit files are not backward-compatible, meaning a Revit 2024 model will not open in Revit 2023 or earlier.
2. Check for Backup Files
Navigate to the folder where your Revit project (.rvt) is located.
Look for backup files—these are usually in the same directory and named like:
Copy
Edit
projectname.001.rvt
projectname.002.rvt
Open the most recent backup to recover your work.
3. Open the File with “Audit” Mode
Open Revit (do not open the file directly).
Click Open on the Home screen.
In the file browser, select your project file.
Check the box for Audit (at the bottom of the Open window).
Click Open—this will fix common corruption issues.
4. Open a Detached Copy
If it’s not a central file but still won’t open:

Open Revit and select Open.
Choose your project file but do not open it yet.
Check the box Detach from Central (even if it’s not a central model).
Choose Detach and Preserve Worksets (if prompted).
Save the new file under a different name.

I tried all that and it is not working.

Either the file or the Revit software in the computer is not working, or both, to check this you may:

1. If the file still works (and the computer doesn't),  try to copy it and open it with another computer;

2. Also, open a new file and test if Revit is working. If not, you can find and see if there are any Revit updates that have not been installed, or try to repair Revit in the control panel.
