Fail to sync (502) Bad Gateway

We have a sporadic issue that seems like Revit loses connection with ACC. This is happening in Revit 2024.3.1. I'm not able to find any similar issues/solutions online or in the forums. I'm also not able to really figure out what might be causing the issue based on the journal file.

This is happening multiple times/days at random. Is it possible it's just a spotty internet connection or can someone gleam another issue from the journal files?Screenshot 2025-05-12 144625.pngScreenshot 2025-05-12 144625.png

I can help.

I think "Guardian" is the culprit here. I would do a clean uninstall (of Guardian) (remove all traces of it after uninstalling) -- but do not reinstall until you run some testing to confirm.

I would also update Revit to 2024.3.2 (latest build) and clear all cache and run other maintenance per the PDF I attached below.

Do not uninstall Revit -for now- because it might be very difficult to re-install.

Note: when you rs-install Guardian, download the latest build from the source. Avoid older version you may find locally.

Thanks Basam, I will give those steps a try. Out of curiosity, what makes you think Guardian is causing the issue? Conflicting .dll or is there another error/warning that makes you think it's the culprit?

I do Revit tech support and mentoring full time ... I know 😉

(it's all over your journal)

I realize Guardian is all over the journal, it's inherent to the addin. I wasn't sure if there were any specific instances that made you suspect it. I'm just trying to better understand the journal file since there's nothing surrounding the bad gateway error that I can tell. It just seems to happen randomly.

Guardian is known to cause issues, especially in older builds, but it is also possible to be something entirely different.

I rarely rely on journal files to solve issues, as those files are not really meant for use by support, but sometimes we get lucky.

Let me know how it goes.
