Fail to create light switch on the floor

Hi,

I got a trouble when placing a light switch on the wall. I got confused because all I am doing is trying to place a light switch and connect the wire to the lights. In the first ceiling tab , I see the picture of the light switch and that I can find the point to connect the wire. However, in the second ceiling tab, I couln't see the picture of the light switch and when I hit to place them on the wall, I can't see the picture of itself, however, when I chose the second floor on Project Browser, I can see the light switch that I just placed. Any ideas to fix it and why it disappear when I place them on the second ceiling.

Notice that I didn't see the door of some rooms in second ceiling tab, but I can see all the door and details in the first ceiling tab. ( My english is not so good so please tell me if you don't understand)

and bottom pic is the second floor tab shows that I can see the light switch i just created

Check the View Range of each of your views. Ensure the switches, outlets and other items you are placing are within each view's View Range. For Reflected Ceiling Plans, what is between the Cut Plane and the Top values will be visible.

Also, when you are placing the switches, check the "Elevation" property on the Properties palette. Make sure this value is set for the height where you want the switches placed before you place them, otherwise you may have to find the switches in other views, select them, then change their Elevation values.

Finally, if they still aren't visible, check your Visibility/Graphics settings and ensure that, under the Model Categories tab, the category "Electrical Fixtures" is checked.

in my office we will sometimes put a Plan Region around the element vs changing the views View Range. just another option 🙂

Oh and I agree with you, Plan Regions work well too. Good additional suggestion.
