Exporting Revit to CAD - Layers

Hello,

I would like to know if somebody can help me with an issue related to the export to DWG :S

See, I am trying to export a complex model to CAD to follow a Layer Standard. I have several families inserted which have been modeled as 'Generic Model'. These families are composed by different extruded elements, mainly Steel and Wood, but, even if I manipulate the layer mapping before exporting, wood elements remain in the wrong layer in the DWG file. That is, they are not wood elements but they are modeled like that in

Revit, what is very worrying for our workflow in order to automate tasks and dont change theses details manually....

Could anybody give an answer or solution to the issue?

Thanks everybody!

Remember that Revit creates layers based on family categories.  It sounds like both wood and steel elements are generic models and within the same family so they will be on the same layer.  Am i correct in saying that the families have both material properties in it.  What would happen if you have these elements on subcategories and then override those in the view and set the export option to Export all properties BYLAYER, and create new layers for overrides.  I think that should work but have not tested it.
