Adaptive Component Slanted Columns Base offset

Hello,

Modelled an AC Column to Repeat throughout a divided surface.

Works fine but now I need to add a Base Offset to it so that it extends below.

Workaround includes adding a new Intersect to create a new set of nodes to match the base but was wondering if there was a more elegant way of doing it by building the feature into the current family.

One key thing is to be able to keep the base (and top) horizontal to Global.

See images below. AC Column Family attached. Revit 2016.

Thank you for your help.

J

I would do it in this way:

1) Family 1 is a generic model family, work-based, always vertical, with a 2d shape, made of model lines. See image # 1.

2) Family 2 is a generic model adaptive family, lalways vertical, with a skeleton of points, in which you will host family 1. This family contains parameters. See image # 2.

3) Family 3 is a generic model adaptive family that contains a divided path. You will put family 2 on one of the nodes, associate the parameters to local parameters (especially the offset at the base that you need), and then repeat family 2. See image # 3.

I tried to re-create your workflow but it fails to slant, any idea why that may be ?

Thank you
