Exporting from Revit file to DWG file

If I export a sheet from Revit to a DWG file, are line patterns exported as separate files?

I tried to export a file but I cant find the line patterns.

Depends on what setting you are set. If you want to see those linetype as is when open AutoCAD, choose Scale Linetype definition. This require least amount of work.

You can choose the other two but you need to do additional step in AutoCAD to get the scale you wanted. If you choose PSLTSCALE = 1, you have to set the annotative scale from 1:1 to drawing scale for the linetype to show. If you set PSLTSCALE = 0, then in autocad you need to set AutoCAD LTSCALE to the scale of the drawing.

No those are embedded into the DWG itself. If you want to use that as external LIN file so it can be used for other project, then you would need to install a LISP routine. You can check this website how to export LIN file from DWG from the link below.

No they are not...Exported in a separate file. Revit uses mapping to line pattern file which you already have. IE:  When exported, Revit line patterns are substituted/replaced with the specified patterns defined in the DWG line patterns file you have loaded (See: DWG export settings). 

By default, Revit uses the DWG Line Pattern definition file located in the following folder. (Which is basically basic Autocad DWG line patterns - If you have another file with custom definitions which you use, you can load that instead) .... The same applies to Fill Patterns
