Exporting 3D model to Artlantis from Revit Lt 2017

I am using Revit LT 2017 and trying to export the 3D file into Artlantis to render it. Artlantis instructs me to go to Parallel view (done) and then the Tools menu -- External Tools -- Export to Artlantis Render Studio.

I am unable to find the Tools menu in Revit LT 2017, to get this export started. Can anyone help me? I have installed the Artlantis / Revit Export plug-in.

Hi, did you get anywhere with this? I am looking at options of how to produce renders from my LT models and was considering Artlantis as an option.

Regards, Richard.

Revit LT does not support 3rd party plug-ins that show up under External Tools so you will not be able to export your model this way.

Revit add-ins: CAD Purger (delete UNUSED and selected line patterns & line styles, find and delete CAD), Rooms To Spaces, Schedule Utilities (Calculated Values/Combined Parameters To Tags, reuse view filter rules in schedule filters), View Filter Manager at Revit Apps Store

Hi, thanks for your reply. I was looking for a standalone rendering program which I can export to from Revit LT. I know it does not accept plug ins (I've been using it since 2013) but I wondered what my options are if I want to produce rendered images. I have tried the cloud rendering option but would quite like to have a bit more control / options. I spoke to my re-seller who suggested I go back to Sketchup to produce images (not happening) or buy the full version of Revit with 3DS which my budget will not stretch to.

My other option is to go to ArchiCAD I suppose.

Hi Richard,

No, I haven't been able to find a solution to this yet. Partly I haven't
had time to look into it thoroughly but from initial exploration, the tab
in Revit LT that the guide steps through to complete the task, doesn't
exist, so I don't know how to move forward from there.

If you get any insights please let me know!

@Newcastle_urbanplan & @arcsurvey....as you already found out Revit LT does not allow add-ins.

But...if you want to use other programs like 3DMax or ArtLantis, you are NOT out of luck....it just means you don't have a button you can click.

Go to your 3D view of your model in Revit LT, then go to the BIG R, and select Export FBX and save the view.  Both Artlantis and 3dMax can import FBX files.  They can also import DWG and DXF.

That's great - thanks. I thought that must be the case but good to hear it from someone else.

How did you get on with exporting to Artlantis?

I am currently in the same boat using LT looking for external render and tossing up the idea of moving to Archicad. I have established a good workflow but it would be a logical step if compatibility between external renders isn't easy/functional

As mentioned by @Anonymous, have you tried to export and FBX file from Revit LT? Artlantis should be able to import FBX (most renerders will).

Please mention Revit version, especially when uploading Revit files.
