Export several buildings as one IFC

Hi fellas!

I wonder if it's somehow possible to export several buildings (done in Revit) as one IFC-file?
We've been trying to bind the files inside a new Revit file, but we get a bunch of errors and it doesn't seem to work as intented.

600+ errors when binding, I think most of them has to do with finding the right location (levels?) and such.

The first one works, but the second building doesn't bind at all.

1. Are you using shared coordinates? 
2. Are the Levels same in all buildings - I usually use different naming such As B1.L1 OKFF, B2L1 OKFF
3. If you open the building model are there any unresolved errors? if yes try to resolve as many as possible
4. Did you try to open each building and purge (x3) 
5. When you bind, Revit should allow you to export the errors during the process or is it not the case?

A workaound I read somewhere is that you can export as separate files then open them in Navisworks then export from Navisworks as IFC and they will show together.

I didn't try it my self and not sure if you have Navisworks.

An easier workaround is to Export each building as separate IFC model, then Link/Bind the IFC instead of the binding revit links... being a non hosted geometry bypasses the hosting errors or any other errors which may be in the seprate buildings.

Ideally the errors should be resolved prior to IFC export. Using shared coordinates, unique ID for the level datums in different models and purging usually resolves more than half the issues

Worth a shot. Is it possible to export the coordinating Revit file as one IFC afterwards? (with all IFC:s imported)

You should yes...but that is a last resort option considering that it is a 2 layers of IFC exports

You need to properly manage the property sets on the first and second export and please do test on 2 buildings first and review information exported to make sure all information went through
