hello all. i am trying to export the 3D model of an rvt file as a dwf so that it opens in dwf viewers without material colors. i just want to show the massing and line edges and hatches as if it is in the Hidden Line Visual Style. i have the 3d model view in Hidden Line, but when i export it to a dwf (even though i have the print setting set to grayscale) the dwf invariably is in color. Can i export the 3D view as a grayscale DWF? if so, how do i do this. i'm trying to collaborate with non-technical personnel and want to post the grayscale dwf in Autodesk Viewer online and share the link for others to view. thanks!
Kind of like a chipboard physical model? Create a Phase Filter, set New, Existing, Demolished and Temporary to Overridden. Assign the Phase Filter to the 3D View. Might even want to use another Phasing Graphic Overrides Material. Maybe to Chipboard? ![]()
Thanks @barthbradley That is a lot of set-up in something i'm not proficient at. Also, it doesn't seem to be something that will show the material's b&w hatch patterns on - but rather a pure gray mass. Basically, the model looks fine in 3D view as B&W. i just want it to export as a DWF that way, but even with the view in Hidden Line and the print set-up set to grayscale, the DWF is still a patchwork of color. It seems very strange that you can print 2D sheets and 2D prints of 3D views this way, but you can't print the model this way. Am i missing something?
So, I take it that there is NO WAY to export the DWF of the 3D model as viewed with Visual Style: Hidden Line? Anybody? This seems like a ridiculous oversight of a collaborative graphic expression...
You can define a gray color for all layers by creating a new dwg / dxf export configuration.
And in Autocad or viewr put the visualization style in Hidden Line.
Don't forget step 4, you need to expand everything to select all types of elements

He wants the Model in Design Revit to be gray.
Something along these lines, I imagine - except not monochrome...
No, not gray. I want the model to export looking like it does with the Hidden Line visual style, with all the hatches. We can save the views in 2D views to look like this, and we can export those views as DWF drawings, but apparently we cannot export the 3D model as a DWF with Hidden Line Visual Style. Why is that? Or am i missing something. Thanks for any input.
