export from revit to cad

When exporting from cad to Revit. is thr a way that I hide doors from underlaid floor levels without effecting the actual floor doors? example I'm exporting podium floor plan and I have to underlay ground floor in order to show the roads, planters... but the problem is the doors on gf are visible.

Also is their a way to have all the underlaid elements on one layer so that whoever is going to work on CAD will not be confused.

thank you in advance.

well, you could filter by door type to hide specific doors... or you could filter by selection (select/save selection)

With regards to your second question. One way I could think of is that you could set underlay settings under manage -> additional settings with a specific lineweight/linestyle, which you then qselect/filter in autocad to a single layer... Don't know about exporting underlays in a single 'layer'...

Another idea is to export a dwg&re-link surroundings as dwg instead of an underlay, then Revit will export the linked dwg as block. But there should be an easier way to do what you want I should think, unfortunately not that I can think of right now...

Seems to me that you are only really interested in the dwg file, is that right?

I would suggest exporting the podium floor first, then separately the ground floor. You can then hide all doors in the ground floor and set all layers to be exported the same as you want under DWG Export - Select Export Setup. Perhaps you want to choose a specific color for the underlay level as well? You could also save the Export Setup as "Underlay". In AutoCAD you would only have to copy paste, which is quite straight Forward...

Well I'm personally interested in having my plans read properly in revit! So I would like to find a solution to my underlay doors visibility!

But I'm asking about CAD since some of the consultants are only working with CAD on this project specifically!

Like I said: go to ground floor select doors you want hidden -> save selection as doors_groundfloor ie. -> VG -> add selection filter and uncheck visibility...

Or like that, yes. Wasn't sure if you want all doors hidden though and/or other elements, so I went with selection filter 🙂

I realized the lines on the door family were set to be shown only if door is cut - which would be a solution for @Anonymous as well 🙂
