Hi.
I understand you want to export family parameters to Excel, translate the data and import it back into the Revit file.
You can use a free third party add-in to achieve that. Download DiRootsOne and use the SheetLink tool to achieve that.
DiRootsOne - 8 Productivity Tools | Revit | Autodesk App Store
After installing
- Create a Schedule of the Category and add all the Fields (parameters) needing to be changed.
- Launch SheetLink and switch to the Schedules tab
- Select the Schedule created in step 1 and Export to Excel.
- Edit the file in Excel as needed. Save and close. (make sure not to edit hidden data, rename or move columns)
- Follow the instructions in this video to translate the data. (The BIMLink tool (paid) is a bit more advanced than SheetLink, but for your needs the SheetLink will work perfectly)

In SheetLink, having the schedule selected, Click Import and select the translated file.
Let me know if this works
