Exploded DWG Import in Revit Family editor can't be selected by Window selection

Greetings!

I have a big DWG File that I imported into Revit Generic Model template family. The DWG was consisting 3D Block Reference, and when I full exploded all the blocks become solids in Family Editor. The problem is I can multi select many block using Ctrl + Mouse click but I can not use Window Selection method. Is it the default behavior of Revit, or am I missing something?

I don't have that problem granted my 3d CAD drawing is not too big.  Can you share the CAD file?

@Anonymous  You don't specify what type of "window selection". Left to right or right to left? If it is from left to right, maybe the blocks have an insertion point that is outside of the window. Have you tried the selection in the opposite direction?

Yes dear @Alfredo_Medina I have tested with both direction (Top Left to Bottom Right and Bottom Right to Top Left) but the blocks could not be window selected.

@ToanDN I also tried with simpler box blocks and I can select. I also edited one block and moved the 3D geometry far from the block insertion point XY Axes and the simpler objects still can be selected.

May be these problematic blocks are much complex. At the moment I can not share the file. I will get back once I can.

I have the same Problem. My Solution was to first import the CAD-File into a Drafting view with the same View Scale as my Plan view. Then all the CAD-lines automatically convert to Detail-Lines. After that I select the Detail lines and copy-paste them into a plan view. The benefit of the Plan view is that you can create dependent views from the plan view when you copy the plan views.

The reason why you cant "window Select" your lines is that they are turned into model lines wenn you import your CAD-lines directly into a plan view.

I would probably suggest you the BIMDeX product - AutoCAD to Revit Exporter. These plugins came in real handy when i had the same requirement. Despite of me not working in Revit, I had to give my AutoCAD 3D drawings to our customers who work on Revit and these plugins helped us solve the issue by just 2 clicks. If you go to your  "View Template settings" and change the "discipline" from "Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing" to "Coordination", you will be able to window select the model lines.
