Hi when I import a 2d dwg file into revit section view I get this error:  the import geometry is not visible in the view using the current setting.

How can I fix this problem.I also need to know that when I explode the imported dwg file it is converted to revit model lines(not detail lines) how can I fix this problem also. thank you...

You have to look at the link/import settings. Probably due to the settings it loads the drawing in plan orientation.

Further I would advise you not explode your autocad drawings. This usually works not well with Revit. It creates all kinds of line types and so on in your Revit project possibly causing lot of overhead and even negative influence on performance. Exploding Autocad drawings can also result in incomplete details. Revit has limit on line length (+/- 0.8 mm). Smaller lines can not be drawn. When exploding autocad these small details can be lost.

My approach is always the following. First I try to prevent to use any external file types. When needed and possible I link them instead of loading them.

Due to the overhead I never explode the dwg files. If I really need to link/import dwg files I clean them up in Autocad before importing/linking

If used more often (other projects) I try to convert them to native Revit details.

Please mention Revit version, especially when uploading Revit files.
