Ergonomic alternative to mouse for Revit work?

Dear all,

I have been using Revit intensely for more than six years now.

Two years ago I have developed a bad tennis elbow from overusing a normal mouse with my right hand. I switched to a vertical mouse which alleviated the pain in the elbow but somehow after using the vertical mouse for more than a year I developed pain in the right shoulder!

I recently decided to start using my left hand instead of my right hand for doing mouse work. I bought a left handed vertical mouse about a month ago but already start experiencing pain in the left elbow!

I am therefore looking for a more ergonomic way to do precise mouse work without a mouse. A friend of mine recommends using a trackpad but be he is not a Revit user and was wondering whether that would be precise enough for Revit work?

Would anyone here please recommend what they think would be the best compromise between precision and ergonomics?

Kind regards.

Vincent

Some people use trackball or trackpad (digital tablet).  I tried trackball but it didn't feel right.  I have never tried a trackpad so no comments.

By the way the physical size/quality of the mouse and the precision play a big part.  I am much more comfortable with a big heavy gaming mouse (Logitech G602) than several other vertical mice I tried.

Thank you for your feedback.

In my case,  it appears that all the 'mouse' options are exhausted.

And like you, I do not believe the trackball will be appropriate.

Would anyone have experience using a trackpad or a drawing pad with stylus for Revit work?

Kind regards.

Vincent

Even more important than the mouse is proper ergonomic practices like stretching and posture.

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.
