Hi-

have searched far and wide - to attempt to embed a curtain wall into this in-place wall mass- although the CW does embed it does not cut the host wall- and when l attempt to use the cut geometry tool- nothing - do in-place mass have different properties that basic walls -have load tow images of the wall both have the CW embedded- have tried numerous techniques -

It is not the Mass, it it the Wall. If it is Slanted or Wall: By Face on a Slanted Surface, the Curtain wall will not be embedded ie: won't cut the Wall

  1. Either cut the wall with a void
  2. Pre-Cut the surface before applying Wall: By Face
    • While at it you can also model the infill Surface
    • use either curtain system or the more practical option Roof: By Face >>  Slopped Glazing (instead of Curtain wall)

Thanks for the response- i will attempt to use your method- the images may be misleading- but the wall is vertical as is the CW -

If it is vertical you shouldn't be having any issues...should it not work, upload a .rvt with that mass for a closer look

Hi:

After spending countless hours on attempting to embed a single storey curtain wall into an in-place wall component mass - all l had to do was erase the in-place wall mass and replace it with a normal wall - and the curtain wall just embedded fine...l have to wonder what the use of a in-place wall mass - if you can not modify it- although the wall mass did host normal windows fine - but when it came to the curtain wall.. no method succeeded- just to let the next revit user know...
