Elevation views suddenly not visible in floor plan?

Hi all,

So yesterday I made several elevation plans on a floor plan of my current project (see project browser in screenshot). However when I've tried to make them today, in the same manner, on the same floor plan, Revit has given me the warning in the screenshot. Does anyone have any knowledge of what typically causes this issue, and some ways I can try to help fix it?

Thanks in advance,

EDIT 2/24 MORNING: Just to clarify, in addition to changing the discipline of my elevation views to "Coordination" and deleting any view templates in the file, I've confirmed that Elevations are turned on in the VG settings for the view - see screenshot below:

EDIT 2 (2/24): Upon investigation, I can add elevation views to my L0B view just fine. However I need to add them to L01. And the weird thing is that they're both structural drawings, so maybe there's some property per drawing/view that I'm unaware of which can affect whether or not elevation views are visible?? (...though it's confirmed not the VG settings, nor a phasing issue)

Same as previous posts

  • Using the yellow bulb on the task bar of the view >>> Reveal Hidden Elements and see if they were hidden

OR

  • Check visibility graphics >> Annotations tab ... Scroll down to see if Elevations are off

OR

  • Check plan view Phase and the Phase of the Elevation (mismatch can turn the elevation invisible)

OR

  • Or check scale of the view . Elevations can be set to not visible in scales coarser than XXXX

OR

  • Take another look at the 33 Reasons things can be invisible posted to your previous post

OR

  • Wait for ToanDN to repack this reply and accept that as a solution lol

Change the elevation view's discipline to Coordination.  Structural elevations/sections do not show in Architectural plan views.

It's not the VG settings (just confirmed), but as far as the second option goes...

...how'd you access those properties in the properties palette? When I pull mine up, I don't see an option for elevation views.

  1. Escape first... to un-select the elevation command .. Switch to another floor where the elevation shows ans select it >>> the properties of the elevation will show if the palette is checked. (to bring it up in case it is closed see menu below)
  2. Alternatively try changing the scale of the view where it is hidden

So I'm not entirely sure what you mean, but elevation views were visible in this same view yesterday, and I haven't (intentionally...?) changed any settings since then.

Could my plan's view scale being set to 1/8" matter?

@cjacobsLDX59

Read previous reply... change scale and try (if elevation was to to hide at scale coarser than XXX then possibly yes)

You have a long list of possibilities given above ... try them

Checking out Cheers

If you have a template, you should in visible graphic consider it or if not check the visible graphic

I changed the discipline of each elevation view to Coordination - no luck.
