Elevation Symbol Reference on Multiple Sheets

Hi,

I am working on a historical project and am in the process of housekeeping various errors and warnings.

We have elevations within a courtyard (so all 4 sides of an elevation symbol in plan are populated), however these elevations are shown on different sheets.

This of course leads to the error "An elevation symbol references views on more than one sheet. It will show a blank sheet reference. To show the correct references, use a separate elevation symbol for the views on each sheet."

Due to this error being ignored for so long, these elevations now have callouts/sections stemming from them.

Is there a way of overcoming this error without having to redraw?

Is it possible to move the elevation to another elevation symbol?

You can place new elevation symbols and reference them to another view - will this not work?

I have set up referencing views to display a sheet number on the plans, which semi-solves the issue in terms of graphical fidelity.

However the intrinsic Revit warning still remains.

Duplicate as dependent the elevation view then a new mark will be created and you can move it away from the original mark. Then replace the old elevation view on sheet with the new one.

"An elevation symbol references views on more than one sheet"???  Huh?  I've never seen this before. I can't even wrap my brain around it, since Revit does not allow views to be placed on more than one sheet.

@ToanDN : want to tell me how to replicate the error message?  Love to know.

- Place an elevation mark
- Tick all 4 boxes to create 4 elevation views
- Place the views on different sheets

I tried duplicating (not as dependant) but the callouts obviously didn't come across.

If I duplicate as dependant, can I then delete the old elevation?

And will it effect any of the views that have been created from this?

Thanks, @ToanDN .

You have to duplicate as dependent for the callouts to come across.  You cannot delete the original elevation, but the elevation tag will not show if you set non-placed views to not print under print settings, or use a filter to actually hide them in view.  You do need to replace the old elevation view with the dependent one on sheet, but other than that, no other consequences.

I have duplicated as dependant, which created the new marks as suggested, however the warning is still visible in the warning list.

This is even after removing the original elevations from all sheets.

How is this possible?

You can also make a new elevation tag where the sheet number is associated with the pointer family that gets loaded into the elevation body mark.

Hello all, this bug seems to appear when Ctrl C Ctrl V or Create similar is used on an elevation marker. The temporary solution might be to only create new elevation symbols. @Anonymous @Anonymous @Geoconsult-ICT
This behavior of elevation symbols and copying them is not use friendly, please correct this glitch.

They won’t hear you here. You can tell them about it in Product Feedback.

There's no way to get their attention even with Tags ? Sad reality of forums, I will try to open a ticket with them. Wouldn't be the first one
