Edit Top Rail of a Handrail/Guardrail System

Hello

I am trying to create a custom top rail extension and am viewing the videos on the internet to learn how. The video instructs me to "hit TAB and select the top rail", but when i hit TAB, the puter dings and i cannot select the top rail. I am using Revit 2019.

@Michael.Dombrowski Check to make sure your selection settings at the bottom right of your screen don't have Pinned Elements turned off (As it is a pinned element).
