Easily finding grids? (Revit 2020)

Hi all,

I have a large Revit project which includes quite a big grid system (which I'm currently tweaking). Anyway, I've found it difficult to impossible to find a particular grid # just by visually scanning.

Is there a way to somehow search to find a particular grid? Or even make a grid schedule or something?

Create a Grid schedule > select a grid > Highlight in Model

I don't fully follow that third step of "Highlight in model"?

Also does it matter what category of schedule I make?

What category?  You want to find a grid then you make a grid schedule.

Okay so I have simply never seen what's included in your screenshot.

All of the schedules I've ever made have been from the "Schedule/Quantities" tool, and the dialogue looks nothing like that. Very confused now, haha.

I was going to suggest a dynamo graph which you run using player, type the grid name and it highlights but if you find the schedule confusing, maybe dynamo is not a good idea

I don't even know what dynamo is, and even this schedule stuff is new to me, so it's probably not a good idea to go there, haha.

You make a grid schedule from the same Schedule/Quantities tool, scroll down to letter G, and choose Grids, then OK.

This is very helpful, thank you. But when I highlight the grid I want to find in the model, the screen pans to an area where it just...doesn't appear to be.

It's starting to seem like this grid isn't visible - is it possible I could've turned off its visibility somehow by mistake?

Never mind I figured it out! It was just directly under another grid!
