Easiest way to draw extrusion around existing pipe?

Hello

I want to model a extrusion around existing pipe. I started to do it with model in place and it worked fine until the pipe has a bend and also different angle as you can see in section view. Is there a easy way just to model an extrusion around the pipe?

For this you will need to use a sweep. The biggest problem will be getting the suitable path for the sweep.

I do not know how the existing pipe is created. It might be that there is an edge there that can function as a path. Otherwise you would have to create a path somehow. Revit has limited functionality in creating 3D paths. How you could create that path depends on the source information you have available. Otherwise you might need to create a path by eyeballing the object (depending on accuracy needed).

Please mention Revit version, especially when uploading Revit files.

Revit's  MEP Tools has automatic Pipe Insulation that does just this:
