Hello, I am looking for a tool or method to quickly take measurements on the generic model. Can anyone help?

I am assuming you are looking to automate the process of dimentioning model elements and create layouts?

Besides dynamo also look at (paid) add-in. For example look in the Autodesk App-Store, or search the internet for others
