Drawing List with revision tracking capabilities

hello all

I am trying to figure how this can be a simple solution

I would like to be able to generate a drawing index that will allow us to track all drawings that are part of a submission

if we have 125 drawings in our list (schedule) all have been issued for Permit

we add 5 more drawings for Bid

then add 25 more drawings for Construction

Bulletin 1 only submitting 50 drawings

1. 125 drawings submitted

2.130 drawings submitted

3. 155 drawings submitted

4. 50 drawings submitted

I would like to be able to see the history of each drawing in a list as it relates to its issue.

has anyone had any success in associating the revision schedule to a drawing schedule without adding too much user integration into the workflow?

Add some of the "Issued..." and "Current Revision..." parameters to your Sheet Schedule?

Revit only tracks the Current Revision in a Sheet Index so you need to add a field to record the Sheets issued RIGHT after each Issuance:

- Create a Issuance log worksheet schedule

- Add Current Revision field, add a Yes/No parameter named after the Current Revision, e.g. Release 1

- Sort by Current Revision, uncheck Itemize every instance

- Check the Release 1 box and all Sheets under this Revision will be checked

- Create a Master Issuance schedule, similar to below

- Add a Calculated value field for each Yes/No field, make them calculate Total

- Hide the Yes/No field on your final schedule.

I have a question - how would I apply a comment to each sheet for each revision on stating what changed.

ILO the revision description "issued for..."  in the column "changes"  add comment like 'added detail' to A101 for revision 2 but then in say revision 4 same sheet say "moved walls"  for in-house tracking.

I'm wondering how you added the unicode (checkboxes) to the formula? Would you mind sharing the formula too?

The check boxes in the schedule are Yes/No parameters. The formula is already shown in my previous post's screenshot.

But the checkboxes are only visible as checkboxes in the schedule window, when I place that on a sheet, it will read as yes or no. See below.

The original question was to count sheets for each submittal. The Y/N boxes are not intended to show in the schedule at all.

If you want them visible, then please create another topic for the new query.

I need to do the same thing. All I figured out was how to make that box a color or shade which works quite well visually and better than the 'Yes'. But ideally we would be able to just show a heavy dot whenever the check box was checked.

To make it a block color, I went to the 'formatting ' tab of the Sheet List Properties and clicked on 'conditional format...'

Then made it read When XXX is Equal to = YES - and I hit the background color box and set it to dark grey.

My guess is it's in here somewhere but that all I figured out so far. Maybe you are ahead of me by now.

To show something other than 'Yes' or 'No', you will need another parameter (a Text maybe), something that tells Revit

Yes = ___.

I know it's on a website out there I found recently because I ran across it looking for something else, but it piqued my interest. I can't remember who or where it is though. If I remember correctly, they used the Windows Character Map where there are quite a few optimal choices (i.e. square root, filled dot, hollow dot, etc.). The trick to using that though is that the font used has to match. Arial to Arial, not Wingdings to Arial. That sort of thing. I have looked for that link to reference here but came up empty. I hope this helped at all.
