drag family to "rounded" offset

Hello everybody,

Is it possible to drag a family, in a section view, to a rounded elevation/ off-set?

For example, I drag/ place something with an original off-set of 3000 to a new location with an off-set of 3213,45. Is it possible that the elevation of this object will change automatically to 3215,00? Rounded up (or down) to 5mm?

No there is not really a tool for that. You use a combination of tools to get things on the right position.

-You have a possibility to set/create an offset in the family.

-You use the move tool from a known location and type in the move distance.

-You move items. The snap settings (on the manage tab) in combination with the zoom level will have a preference for some rounded numbers.

-You make use of reference planes to snap easily to a certain positions.

Which (combination) of tools you use depend on the situation and your preference.

Other options might be to automate your needs by using add-in or creating a tool in DYnamo.
