Drag and Drop Detail Views to a Sheet No Longer Works!?

I have been using Revit for many, many, many years and I am flummoxed. Dragging and dropping the last few detail views onto a sheet, right before a deadline no less, no longer works.

So I did some tests…

Dragging and dropping Floor Plans (architectural, demolition, mechanical, plumbing, schematic, and structural), Ceiling Plans (architectural, electrical), 3-D views (architectural, schematic), Elevations (architectural, demolition, and schematic), some drafting views!?, schedules (Area, electrical equipment, mechanical equipment, specialty equipment, and structural framing) no longer works!?

Dragging and dropping Structural Plans, Floor Plans (electrical plans, existing plans, MEP, and interiors plans), 3-D views (existing 3-D), Elevations (existing), some drafting views!?, legends, schedules (casework, ceiling, door, electrical fixture, floor, Lighting fixture, plumbing fixture, railing, roof, room finish, sheet index, stair schedule, Wall schedule, and window schedule), and area plans works just fine.

I see no rhyme nor reason…What the flip!? This is happening in two existing projects that I tested (one current, and one several years since I've worked on it) as well as in a new test project all in revit 2022 using a very mature (many, many, many years in the making) project template. Uh Oh?

Uh Oh! Dragging and dropping views onto a sheet using a default Revit 2022 template works for all View types in a new test project! Huh?

I followed this KB article to no avail…the problem persists. https://www.autodesk.com/support/technical/article/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Drag-and-Drop-does...

I tried purging my project, but the problem persists.

As a primitive workaround, I could print screenshots of the few details that are left for this project and add static text annotations on the relevant callout symbols in order to print this for permit, however I still have to practice tomorrow and won't be able to do this for all of my projects out into the future.

If I had any hair left, I would pull it all out. Any ideas?

Any changes to your normal daily process (new computer, new programs, updates on programs, doing remote?)?

I've posted a slimmed down new test project. PLMK.

No issues here. I dragged all the views onto the sheet.

Can you open the project in a newer version (2023, 2024) and see if you can drag and drop views? You may have to reinstall Revit.

You can also add a view to a sheet by right clicking in the sheet in the project browser.

You can also add a view through the View tab when you have a sheet open.

No hardware changes. All software updated frequently except Revit.

I'll need to install one of these and give it a try. Thanks.
