Dorm opening border creates unneeded lines in 3d view (walls and roof) / Revit LT 2022

Hi,

I have created a dorm in an upper floor. From the outside everything looks ok, but when creating a 3d interior view the border of the dorm opening creates some extra lines that disturb the view. Any ideas on how to avoid this problem? Thanks in advance!

You may want to attach a screen shot of the issue.  I assume you mean dormer in a roof?  If it is in a specific view on a sheet just make the offending lines invisible with the linework tool.

Thanks for your reply! Yes, it is a dormer in a roof and the lines appear when viewing the room with the dormer in question in any 3d view (in realistic, shaded or consistent colors). I thought I had attached an image of the problem, sorry if it dissapeared. New attempt now.

Try and make it the same material.  That should make it at least the same colour in the shaded / realistic display.  Then try and join the walls to the roof.  Joining should solve the issue.

You may not have a choice than to logically show those lines. 

before -

after - joining and making the same material really didn't do much.  I just used the linework tool to make the offending lines invisible.  If you look at the way the dormer joins to the roof.  You can see that it shows up properly although you cannot add a piece of drywall that extends down to cover the inside edge of the roof.  Not much you can do.  Just make the lines invisible you do not want to see.

Paint the surfaces with the same material and Join geometry.  You may still see some fainted lines where the surfaces join but they will not show when you print or create PDF.
