Door Schedule with Design Options

We are working on a 105k SF project that has 5 add/alternates; 3 of those alternates have doors which need to be included in the door schedule.  This is a state project, so the base bid plus all add/alts are included in the final CD set sent to bidding.  Until a bid is selected by the state, we won't actually know which add/alts have been taken.

As such, all of our doors (those in the main model & those in each of the alternates) need to be included in the door schedule.  There are a couple of us in the office working on the door package, and so far the only thing we've been able to figure out is to have a base bid schedule plus one schedule for each alternate that has doors.  Are we missing something or is this just the way that it has to be done?

Is there a way to schedule doors showing main model and design option doors all in one schedule or is this a limitation that Revit has not yet resolved?

You mean schedule Main Option Doors plus all Doors in all DOs in one QTO Schedule?

What you are doing is the cleanest way.  One base bid schedule and one add schedule for each add alternate on a sheet.  If you have 5 alts, make 5 sheets.

Yes, one schedule with all of the base bid doors and all of the alternate (design options) doors.  We need all of these included in the schedule, because depending on which alternates are taken, some of the base bid doors are not included (one of our entrances has different configurations depending upon which way the bid goes).

No, sir.  That's neither practical nor efficient.  We have hundreds of doors in the projects with 3 dozen or more hardware groups.  It makes no sense whatsoever to have a special door type for each option; likewise, it still leaves me with the problem of how do I get a design option to show up in the main model schedule.

"Special Door Type"??? What are you taking about?  That's not what I'm showing here:

It's just showing the number of doors in the Main Model and Design Options.

It's not as simple as having a door count.  There's a lot of information we need to convey, and it's much easier if we can get it into 1 schedule on 1 sheet instead of multiple schedules on multiple sheets.

Using visibility overrides for the schedule does not work either, because it will still not display any doors outside of that design option.

Yes, I get that.  I just responded to what you specifically said which was "it still leaves me with the problem of how do I get a design option to show up in the main model schedule".
