Door schedule problem

Hello guys, I have the following problem. I want to create a schedule like this on the attached screenshot - with levels grouped by columns, not by rows. I tried to create a new parameter, but it was impossible to chosse "Level" type. Is there a possibility to to that in Revit?

hi ToanDN, Thank you for your reply. sorry for late reply. I followed your instructions but i dont get it right. I really dont know where i made mistakes.

When i add to " to room: name" my locations of door doesn't appear, followed your screenshot door schedule but if i changed sorting/grouping instead of " type mark" to " to from room: name: room names appeared but my problems the door schedule becomes individual and not groupings at all. any help can give is much appreciated. please see attached. thank you.

If you want to show Room fields then don't group the doors in your schedule.

You can add door location to one of the grouping option from the schedule.

The rooms are there, I just didn't tag them.  Same principle whether you sort by Names or Numbers.

A word of caution with this kind of approach.  Unless all your users know how it has been set up and more importantly remember how it's been set up this can get out of control very quickly, the accuracy of your data output is reliant you remembering to update these fields.

If you are familiar with dynamo you could automate the completion of these fields but again you are reliant in people remembering to run the appropriate script once you have it written.

Personally I would be looking at finding an alternative way of setting out your schedule so that it uses the default level settings for the door families but I get that sometimes those higher up want things done a particular way.

Totally agreed. This is a case of just because it can be done does not mean it should be done.

Sometimes I get this sort of request from the higher up of the food chain and I have to decide whether they are the right battles to fight. I personally would have fought this particular request to death.
