Door not showing in legend component

I have a door family with nested families. In 3d it looks fine, also in elevations and sections. But it does not show in the legend component. I can see the dimensions controls but not the object. All the visibilty checks are on. Any ideas?

Check nested category inside the family and make sure the category is not turned off in the legend view.

also is the revit updated? if it's possible to get the family to check it in my revit

Are you sure about that?  Shared nested components show up just fine in a legend view here.

I stand corrected,  actually the 2nd level nesting isn't displayed

That could make sense. But I remembered that I used families whith several levels of nested before, and I did not have any problem. For example, the following is a legend component of a family with several nested. It shows up.
