Displace Elements Button flashes available then greys out

Having an issue in Revit 2016 (with all updates) in a small model where the 3D view is locked and we try to displace the elements with the displace elements tool. It lights up briefly but then greys out. All worksets are on, view template off, there are phases so it is set to show complete, nothing is pinned. It won't allow any object to be displaced regardless of phase.

Super frustrating -- I created a screencast showing how it works in a sample file, but when I flip to our file it doesn't work. URL to screencast below.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Thanks!

Hi!

Please refer to this other similar thread. Maybe the same suggestions mentioned there apply to your case.

Kind regards,
Dmitriy Semko.

Thank you for your post.  It looks like the displace element functionality is not working in your Revit 2016 model.  It sounds like there could be a few different issues at play from this description with the flicker, the greyed out dialog, etc.

In this case, I’m not seeing the URL for the screen cast in the post for review.  Please reply back with that to confirm this issue.  Please also reply back with a sample copy of the model for testing.  There are some settings listed in the link @semko posted that may help (great suggestion).  Additionally, with the flicker and the greyed out option, I would also look at the model itself, and the environment, once the setting is verified.  Please keep us posted.  Thank you and we look forward to your reply.

Check Visibility/Graphic Overrides.
The "Show annotation categories in this view" box in the VGO window must be checked.

Thank you for your post. That is odd.  I am testing further to see what may be occurring there and will send an update once I find further details.

Thank you for your patience.  Using the same stock sample file I am not seeing the same behavior (unless an array is selected).  All objects will allow displacement as expected.  To help overview this I have created a quick video "(no sound) with what I see.  Please let me know if there are any questions.  Thank you and I look forward to your reply.
