dimensioning floor in section

Anybody knows if there is at last a solution to the problem of dimensions for floor layers in section?

It is impossible to snap to them as you would with a wall and that is really silly. We need those dimensions shown!

Anybody?

Thanks

Hi,

Use reference planes. For example, position one reference plane between two floor layers and then annotate....

That is not the kind of answer I was looking for... Smiley Frustrated

I know how to bypass the problem. I need to know if anyone cracked it, wrote a script or anything better than toiling like 2D software.

I think I miss something here....the Dimensioning works fine for Floor layers.....

Anyway , if for some reason , it doesn't work in your case, maybe you can Create Parts and then use Dimensions

I'm with @constantin.stroescu: I can pull dimensions from compound floors layers in Section view. But, if you can't, then turn the floor into Parts.

Is it sloped?

If the reason is the sloped floor then you can create parts.  But the most important steps are splitting parts a long a reference plane, and draw the section exactly where the reference plane is.  Set the section to Show Parts and you can dimension the layers.

Cracked it. Whenever you tick any of the layers as variable you cannot dimension the layers, even if you do not edit its levels. Thanks for your efforts!

Interesting behavior. Indeed you cannot pull a dimension from a variable layer. I'll have to remember his one. Thanks.
