Dimension text in line with dimension

So - is it possible to have a dimension style setup that shows the dimension text inline with the dimension - without having to move it?

I have been looking but cannot seem to do it - is it possible and I am just missing it?

Thanks!

Hi  j0hnp,

Sorry to wake up an old topic, i know th center text node is in the rhythm package, but have you tried making one that works with metric systems?

Kind regards
Anders

I have not had a chance. Unfortunately, I am using the Dynamo translation
methods for geometry and that means that while Revit (under the hood) still
thinks in imperial, the Dynamo translation methods will use metric. The
node would probably need to be refactored to only use the Revit API methods
available to us.

Thanks so much! Let me see if I can take a look at that node. I have a few
minor updates to be made and can add that to the list.

@Anders_HMservice Would you mind testing the latest version for me on a metric file?

Nevermind, i got it 🙂

It works fine on single dimensions, but not if there are more dimensions in one string.

Attached screenshots.

Okay, cool. It has never worked for multi segment dimensions. But, with it
working on imperial + metric now, I can try to implement that too.

Hi,

this doesn't seem to work for me. It goes above the line but not in the center.

Any tips?

Hi @j0hnp,

Again, thanks for your great work, hope all i well.

Just fyi. theres a problem when using the dimension center on dimensions in sections/elevations, its doesnt center the text. On plans it still works like a charm.

If this is only on metric, i do not know.

Kind Regards

Anders

so silly (being polite) that Revit, which cost a fortune, cant do straight up and easily what we have done forever and with almost every package available in preparing drawings
