Dimension lines won't stick to area boundary lines

Hello everyone, hope you can help me.

I created a gross Area Plan, have created all my boundaries and now want to show their size.

But when I create the dimension lines the stick to the center of the wall (which I've hidden) instead of the area boundary where I want them to go (as seen in the picture). I tried moving the reference with no success. Strangely, I it does seem to place correctly in the interior divisions.

Any idea how I can get them to where I like them?

Any help is appreciated!

if i understand your question correctly.... when you place the dimension, use the TAB key to cycle thru the wall layers to pick the face you want. once the face you want is highlighted, left click to accept it.

Of course I tried that first, it doesn't work.

The dimension findes the line but shows an offset from it as seen in the attached photo.

The problem arises when the boundary line is the the a wall...

when placing your dimension, use Aligned. then pick the Wall Faces option

So I figured it out... Needed to reveal hidden elements and set the dimension lines to the hidden wall rather than the area boundary line.

Thank everyone!
