Detail within wall not showing in section view

I'm trying to get the wall details to display in the section drawing I'm working on. For some reason it just won't work even though I'm on fine detail. It shows up when I go to a floor plan though.

have you assigned a cut pattern to your wall type components?

select wall type and edit type, each component that makes up the wall may have a material assigned to it.

also when you select the material there may be a cut pattern assigned with that material

select the material and look on the graphics tab to assign the cut pattern.

other way is to use detail components to fine tune your detail

You need to check if in Visibility graphics is not overridden the detail it could be a reason, there are some times that you override your detail element and always have the same level of detail where ever have in your graphic interface.

All detail levels are currently set to "By View". There are no overides currently in place.

The insulation and gypsum wall board have wall cut patterns assigned, whereas the other do not. Either way, shouldn't at least the lines between each wall component be displayed on the wall when viewing it in section view?

yes they should

try switching from hidden to course and back sometimes views act up.

try finding a cut pattern for that wall type to see if it responds your way

also check the view scale to detail level correspondence

Manage Tab/ Additional Settings/Detail Settings

some scales will not show up in Fine , Medium or Course based on that table

Check your phasing. View and wall properties.

+1 on phasing. Is your wall existing?

I tried adjusting the phasing on both the wall itself, and for the detail view. Still not displaying what's inside wall.

I tried switching between coarse, medium, and fine repeatedly with no change in detail. I also added the scale I'm using to those available in fine, and still not working.

Adjusting how?

Which phase does the wall belong to?  What are the phase status and phase filter of the view?

I tried every option provided to me in the phase section of properties for ball the detail properties page and wall properties page. Other than that, not sure how to do anything or check anything else for phasing.

Try Phase filter = Show Complete? Share the file if you can.

Dude your section didn't even cut the wall.  It basically showed the elevation of the wall.

I was having a similar issue with a stacked wall.  I could see the detail in the lower wall, but all detail was missing from the upper wall.  It ended up being an issue with my sill wall sweep cutting into the wall and causing this odd error.  I simply deleted the sweep, made a new sweep, then everything showed up in the section.  The attached image shows the detail with added annotations, but you can see there are no lines for the gyp, stud, sheathing, or siding above the sill.  I'm not sure if you have any sweeps in your model (your siding maybe?), but I'd advise giving them a look if you do.

I'm reviving this thread because I am having the same issue. It's similar to what @Anonymous  reported, but this isn't a stacked wall, although it may have started that way. Currently it's a 30" high wall with a sweep and a separate wall containing a storefront sitting above it (whose detail appears just fine). I just created the sweep, so I can't imagine that deleting and re-creating it will help, although I suppose I could try. But does anyone have any other ideas? TIA.
