Detail Vies showing as Raster Image?

Anonymous

I'm having an issue with my detail views - I have 4 detail shots of different wall sections, some of which share the same section. 2 of the views show up just fine while the other 2 are showing as Raster Images??? All 4 views share the same view template and 3 of the views share the same section! I've checked everything (depth cueing, far clipping, shading, model views, etc) for any inconsistencies and nothing seems to be working! It's a pain in the butt to spend so much time in developing proper lineweights and views for these drawings for Revit to only turn around and rasterize it!

help!!

I had run into this issue and no view templates reapplying worked.

I think I have a solution to the bug in 2017.2.2 (and earlier) It also exists in 2018.1 as well according to my tests

To recreate the issue

1. The View was created using the Callout Button, but
2. Instead of selecting Detail view a Building Section was selected. (your building section template has Depth Cueing ENABLED. Someone realized their mistake and then SWITCHED it to the Detail view because it went to the incorrect section in the Project Browser.

3. In the back end the view still thinks it is Depth Cued , however

. 4. When you go into the settings Depth Cueing is greyed out and shown disabled. However the setting is stuck in the view properties.

So here is the fix!
1. Select the DETAIL VIEW (s) in question.
2. In type selector SWTICH it to BUILDING SECTION (The one that has the Depth Cueing enabled or not) . Edit graphics options and Turn off depth Cueing. It will be ON and available to be turned off.
3. Switch it BACK to Detail View in Type Selector

Repeat to all affected views.

You can also fix multiples

-Select the Detail Views in PB

-In Type Selector switch to Building Section from Detail View (DO NOT unselect the views in the Project Browser as they will jump to another section.

-If you have multiple selected you will not be able to use the Properties dialog. You might be able to Click the bottom in View Control Bar to open Graphics Options under Hidden Line button.

-Turn off Depth cueing (if not on, TOGGLE it on and OFF

-With the same selection in Project Browser switch the TYPE back to Detail Views

Can you please let me know if this works.

@Viveka_CD can you please log this as an issue in 2017.2.2 and 2018.1 as well. Thanks

Thank you Nauman.

I was having the same issue and the only way i found to fix it was to recreate the Section Detail with the Depth Cueing turned off in the building section.

Your method of switching back and forth worked and saved me a couple hours of work.

Awesome!

Thanks, Nauman - this was a helpful fix, we were having the same issue in Revit 2019.2.

I had the exact same issue, but solved it for me. The only thing that was different from everything listed above, through the VIEW TEMPLATE, under MODEL DISPLAY, I checked the box "Smooth lines with anti-aliasing." I don't know why that would have affected this, but it did work.

View template
- Model Display (checked) - turn off, check the anti-aliasing box
- Shadows (checked) - turn off
- Sketch lines (checked) - turn off

I didn't have to touch the others (lighting, photographic exposure, or anything else).
