Deleted Family?

While trying to load a family into my project from US Imperial library, I accidently deleted the folder I wanted... It no longer appears anywhere, in any new project, nowhere and I need to get it back - the temporary solution is loading the metric version. You will see attached pic, between "Railings" and "Structural Columns" I am missing "Site" folder. Please Help, Thank you -JB

Go into Control Panel > Programs & Features and run a repair on Revit Content Libraries.

Hello @Anonymous

  1. On the Windows Control Panel, select ProgramsPrograms and FeaturesUninstall or change a program,
  2. Select Autodesk Revit Content Libraries for the relevant release, and click Uninstall/Change.
  3. On the installation page, click Add or Remove Features.
  4. On the Add or Remove content page, select the content to add (make sure to select all the content you already have or else Revit will remove them - Such as US metric, if you don't keep it checked it will be removed)
  5. Click Next to update your Revit installation.

In that case, Uninstall the Revit Content Libraries. When completed, run the Revit/Building design suite installer, and only choose the Revit Content Libraries from the list then click Install. This will reinstall all of the libraries.

It will not overwrite the library to replace missing contents. You need to remove the Imperial Library completely then re-add it. To do so you need to do the following

  1. Run it the first time (Add/remove Autodesk RCL 2016) and Uncheck All libraries in order for them to be completely remove.
  2. Rerun the Add/remove ARCL 2016 agian then recheck the libraries you need (This will install them fresh new with all the contents of each library)

It may already be too late to do this but have you considered just going to the recycle bin and restoring the folder?

Like @RDAOU, I would've assumed that would be the first thing to try before posting to the forums... 🙂
