delete workset - move components to .....

Hi forum,

I am trying to delete a workset that i created temporairly to link a revit file to. I deleted removed the link, now i am trying to delete the workset but revit is asking me this

iam am 99% sure there is nothing on it, but i also think that Revit only asks if there are some elements on it.

Does anybody has a quick method to select and/or visualize all the elements on a specific workset.

To see all the elements of a workset, go to a 3D view, hide all worksets except the one you wish to delete. Make sure all categories are visible as well.

Maybe there's an unused modelgroup still part of that workset. Did you use phasing? Maybe the elements are in a phase which isn't visible.

(If you're trying to delete the standard Workset1, it's not possible.)

No model groups used, no phasing neiter.....

it's a WS that i created just 10 minutes before.

Does Revit ask this only if there are some elements on the WS or does it asks anyway?

There are elements such as Rooms, Areas, Spaces, Grids, Levels, Reference Planes that can be in a workset but will not show in any 3D view.  Check those.

Hi

If you want only one workset in the end.. then you may try this..

Option 1 - open the file, detach, and delete the workset..

this will give you a clean file without any workset.. and later you 

can make it central and create new workset...

Option 2 - When you delete the workset, it asks to move to " pick some workset " here..

Ex :

Workset 1, Workset 2, Workset 3, Workset A, Workset B....if you have these total 5 workset..

then you can keep deleting Workset 1, Workset 2 and Workset 3 and move them to Workset A.. 

achiving in the end total 2 workset .. Workset A and Workset B...

Thanks for your answer.

Actually I just created the workset temporarily and now i can not delete it anymore.

So i just need to delete that very Workset.

I tried all the workflows described by @ToanDN and @ToanDN - thanks again for your answers - but Revit is still asking me where i want to move the elements.

I guess i am Looking for some solution with dynamo that will collect me all the instances 2D and 3D placed on a specific Workset.

I will keep searching and keep you updated.

I just did a test, creating a workset and then immediatly deleting it. Revit didn't ask any question, so you definitely have some element in the workset.

Have you completely removed the link? (remove link in Manage Links)

Did you explode any CAD imports in your Revit model?

I just found an exploded CAD import in a workset that was not visible or even selectable from a dynamo script. There seems to be hidden meta data on user created worksets sometimes.

I had the imported cad file showing up in all my view templates in the project.

I deleted all views/schedules/legends/sheets(save 1)/purged and compacted everything.

There were no 3D or 2D elements left in the model to delete. Somehow the CAD import was still hanging out in the view template.

Deleting the offending workset and the elements on that workset made it so that the imported CAD was removed from file permanently. I am not sure why Revit was hanging onto this imported CAD file in the workset but it was.

Just one of many reasons not to import/explode CAD I guess.
