Delete/Purge Unused Viewport Types - 2013

i have another question on purging unused View ports from the revit model.

We know that viewports are linked to views and also schedules aswell(hardwired). We tried changing all viewports to 1 viewport, also deleted all the schedules but there are only 4 viewports were showing in the purge options and still 8 unused viewports were showing in the list. After doing further R&D we also found that these viewports also links to drafting views. By using find referring details, we opened referring views of that drafting views and deleted them.

by using this method we purged 2 more viewports now there are still 6 viewports remaining in the model and i wanted to check that can we have a list of object to whom these viewports get link? Or any easy method to get rid of the unused viewports.

Best Regards,

Hello

Delete all unnecessary Floor Plan, Area plan, Structural Plan, Area Plan, Elevations, Sections, delete view templates..
Purge multiple times ( works just like CAD, keep purging till it shows "Zero " and by
this time should be able to get rid of all unused view port...

Use schedule views, and you can see what view templates, family and types are used..

Cheers!

Hi Deleting things is easy to resolve the problem but it is very difficult in a existing project. specially in a large project where after working of several months years project size started going beyond control and then we have to start working on the such cleanup task. now our role comes in such situation when clients asks us to work on the cleaning up viewports and things like this in that case it is very difficult to delete thinngs when you are not sure whether exact which view you will delete to get rid of unwanted viewport. so in short experts also dont know exact where these view ports are link. i checked with autodesk and got similar reply so i think there is still scope for improvement for large existing project maintainance
