You  need to Copy those 3 Walls to the Clipboard and Paste them "Aligned to the Same Place" into the Atrium Roof Option 2.

Change active option to Main Model (bottom status bar, or open Design Options window and finish editing), then you can select the main model's walls.

Sorry, I'm not following you, buddy.  I did exactly what you described before.  Clicked Exclude, TAB-Selected the 3 Walls, Copied them to Clipboard, Pasted them Aligned to Same Place and then put it into Option 2 of the Atrium Design Option Set.  Afterwards, I Attached them to the Atrium Roof.

Is the View's Design Option to Atrium Set Option 2?

As I have said above, you need to change to Main Model in order to select the main model elements to copy paste.  Uncheck Exclude Option does not do the job efficiently, if at all.

i have a few other questions

1. how can i now make a atrium opt 1 with the largw windows and atrium roof

2. how do i change roof to change to the new atrium roof?

do i go back to the main model and select roof but when i did that to smaller hip roof wasnt in atrium roof option 2

3. when you paste  the three walls to atrium option 2 arent you putting the 3 walls on top of existing 3 walls?

when i use cut

by the way the little movie really helped i could watch over and over and reenact the commands

ty for your time and patience i hit a brick wall with the atrium

Are you asking how to make the Atrium Roof Option 2 the Primary? If so, go into the Design Options, select the Atrium Design Option 2 and press "Make Primary".

2. how do i change roof to change to the new atrium roof?

Are you asking how to create a View which shows a particular Deign Option? Go to the View's Visibility and Graphic Overrides Design Option Tab and set the Design Option you want the View to show (not "Automatic").  It's called a "Dedicated View".

Don't understand.

3. when you paste  the three walls to atrium option 2 arent you putting the 3 walls on top of existing 3 walls?

Yes and no. I copied and pasted the 3 wall aligned to the same place, and immediately put them into the Atrium Option 2 Design Option.  So, momentarily they were overlapping existing walls, but not after I put them in a DO.

You're welcome.

no what i am asking is

1. you have two options for curtain wall

op1 has large windows

op 2 has smaller windows

i have np there

then you make two options for atrium roof

you copy the roof and the three smaller walls to atrium roof 1 but not roof two

because option 2  is where you are going to make changes.

so you delete roof in option 2  and create a atrium roof using the extrude ok

but you still have the dormer cut out .how do i change that cut out from the hip roof

to now match the atrium curve.

so now you go back to main model and the std 3d view and cut which to me goes blank and then supposedly go tyhe copy and paste to same place in atrium roof opt 2 so u can attach the the three smaller walls to the new atrium roof

ok i see two sets of walls ? why am i supposed to delete before i paste to same place.

so now i have 3 versions

curtain wall opt 1 with large windows

curtain wall opt 2 with smaller windows

and a atrium roof with smaller windows

how do i get to change atrium roof option 1

which will have large windows and the atrium roof"

plus change the curvature of the dormer cutout to match the curvature of the atrium roof?

i still see two sets of walls? why so? even though i put in a design option?

eventually your going to tell to go f myself

I would never say something like that.  At least, not publicly. Check your Private Messages.  Kidding.

You are asking a lot of questions that require a lot of words to explain. I don't do a lot of words.  But, there are a lot of tutorials on line that have a lot of words - and even videos - that describe the Design Option workflow in great detail.  Better than I could do in a single post, for sure.
