Cutting Concrete fundament with a Steel Beam

I want to cut the concrete geometry with the steel beam, but I can't even select the beam during the cutting tool. I tried ti change the  parameters of the category, but still not helping. (I attached the Rvt.file)

Edit the steel column family and set one 3d element to be visible for ALL detail levels, then reload:

In project, you can Join Geometry the steel column and the Generic model.  See revised file:

I cannot understand the logic here!!!! But this is what I exactly need. Thank you for your help.
